Here are two birds that grace us with their presence daily. The black one is a Grackle and the other is a White Throated Magpie Jay.

I don’t know what its called, but sure does sing purdy!

35

All fluffed up & no place to go.

The empty beach is no more. The buses have started to arrive, the beach is getting full & crazy, and the pizza ovens are busy.

I’ve always wondered how to plant the umbrella in the sand when it doesn’t have an auger at the end of it or a shovel handy. Here, they take the umbrella apart and with the hollow end, drill that into the sand filling it up, bring it up, knock the sand out, repeat until you have a deep enough hole to plant the umbrella. Of course!

We went to Santa Maria today. It is the bedroom community for the workers in La Cruececita & Santa Cruz & all the fancy schmancy resorts around here. A real Mexican community.

37

The main square in Santa Maria.

38

Spray-painted Christmas trees.

39

Best. Chicken. Ever. On the street in Santa Maria.

40

The ever changing musician while dining out. Some are good, some not so good. He was actually quite talented for the shape he was in.

41

This dummy had a note attached, we think it was something about booze & guns don’t mix.

42

Just one of the many beautiful flowers off the trees that are just starting to bloom…after all, this is spring.

43

This intersection is the entrance way to our little town of Santa Cruz. Notice the nice wide streets and sidewalks. It’s all very clean & picturesque

44

Hard working boys, sweeping the streets by hand. Once a week in the middle of the night, some guy goes down the main street with a gas powered leaf blower

45

This hotel, is the one we use the pool, and take Salsa dance lessons. Looks better in real life and that Canadian flag..well, I think we have now met the other half of the snowbirds. There are some Americans but mostly Canadians

46

Kiki & Mohamed..the only dance Mohamed doesn’t know.

47

Steve & our Salsa teacher..from Cuba.
